Misconceptions Revolving Around CBD

Cannabidiol, or “CBD” for short, is just one of many active cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. Through current scientific and clinical research, much of which is sponsored by the U.S. government, it is proving to be a phenomenal compound. Unlike its counter- part, THC, one does not get “high” using CBD, but can still gain many of the physical benefits that cannabinoids have been shown to offer. However, since it is a product of the cannabis plant, that does tend to cause confusion, as well as several misconceptions.

There is a negative stigma surrounding the cannabis plant due to the relationship it shares with medical and recreational marijuana. We aim to change that.

While it is true that the marijuana plant is the main source of cannabinoids, primarily THC, that’s only one side of the equation. The other member of the cannabis family that everyone is becoming rapidly acquainted with, is known as the hemp plant. Hemp is very remarkable in its own right, but what is even more remarkable is its unique characteristic of having a naturally low THC content while simultaneously containing a substantial amount of CBD.

The amount of misinformation surrounding hemp and CBD is a very large issue which we would like to clear up. To be legal, CBD must be derived from industrial hemp that is grown and imported from outside the United States, and must contain less than 0.3% THC content. While that may seem odd to many of us, we are still under the jurisdiction of the law, and some unsavory manufactures severely jeopardize the very business owners and consumers they distribute to by not disclosing this fundamental information. Hemp grown in the US however, falls under a very different set of regulations. According to the Agricultural Act of 2014, industrial hemp may only be grown domestically for the purposes of research conducted under a registered agricultural pilot program or academic research. In other words, hemp grown in the US is only legal for approved research purposes and may not be sold across state lines.

CBD Drip is the first product of its kind sold on the market, and also has the unique distinction of being the Official Vape Additive. What we’ve done is taken the power of CBD, and harnessed it into a concentrated additive designed to be compatible with any type of vaping device. You can mix it with your favorite e-liquid to give it a CBD kick, or for the power users among us, skip the dilution and add CBD Drip directly in your drip mod or tank. Everybody is different and may require more or less than the next person, so that’s why we engineered multiple products hence our Gold, Platinum, and Onyx, that can be used by anyone, anytime, in any amount they deem necessary. Although the product is intended for vaping, CBD Drip is still a powerhouse product because we use only food grade ingredients in the manufacturing process, which makes CBD Drip exceptional due to it’s ability to be ingested as well as inhaled.

Unlike some, we would never compromise the integrity of our product by using anything less than a whole plant extract.

Our customers demand the highest quality products available, and we pride ourselves on meeting those expectations. Aside from most crystals being manufactured illegally (made in the USA), these so called “crystal isolates” are overwhelmingly considered to be a vastly inferior product to whole hemp CBD. Part of the justification for that is found in what is known as “The Entourage Effect”. As the term implies, the true power of CBD is only manifested if all of the other cannabinoids such as CBDg, CBDc, CBN and even THC are also invited to the party. In other words, it’s the equivalent of sending a battalion into battle instead of just a lone ranger. CBD that has been chemically stripped down, over-refined, and altered to a point such as these are far more removed from the inherently superior design nature already perfected ages ago. Also, with so much potential benefit from multicannabinoid whole plant extracts, why such the mad dash to produce single cannabinoid isolates when we’re just starting to scratch the surface potential of this phenomenal and complex substance?

As readers are no doubt aware, there is an ever increasing number of CBD products available on the market these days; and it can be a daunting task to try and distinguish one from another, let alone being able to clearly and concisely determine if you’re getting a quality or legal product. Anyone who understands the power and sheer “sky’s the limit” potential of CBD, can also identify with the constant uphill battle we all endure on a daily basis of informing and educating those who don’t yet understand the impact of this phenomenon. What makes that effort insurmountable and hurts everyone however, is greedy and deceitful companies flooding the market with illegitimate, substandard, and yes, even illegal products and additives. It is only through clear accountability standards and dedicated quality control measures that we can maintain the credibility and viability of our industry.

We all expect, for example, the food we buy from the grocery store to be up to a certain standard. Made with quality ingredients, free from contaminates, tested, and inspected to ensure quality control. Why would you expect anything less from the company that manufactures the CBD product that you’re putting into your body? Unless your supplier can provide you with an up-to-date, comprehensive, verified 3rd party Certificate of Analysis, be very skeptical and ask them why they are unable to provide basic documentation of their product. Some companies will provide “test results” that are usually either conducted in-house and/or are only performed on the raw bulk ingredients and not the final product. These are not much better than a basic ingredients list and provide little to no analytical data. Finally, unlike other CBD brands, we don’t compete with our wholesalers by selling directly to retail customers. How in the world can stores expect to compete if their supplier is literally cutting them out of the equation!
